ICU祭と学生署名の歴史的経緯｜History of ICU Festivals and Signatures from Students

1960年代の学生運動の結果としてICUでは10年間ほどICU祭が開催されていませんでした。

しかし，1976年になって学生が新たに立ち上げたICU祭準備委員会と大学が「全学生の過半数の署名が集まれば当年度のICU祭を開催する」と合意しました。

同年度に署名が無事に集まってICU祭が復活してからは，年度ごとに有志が集まってICU祭準備委員会を立ち上げ，全学の過半数の承認(署名)を得てICU祭実行委員会という年度ごとの公認団体となってICU祭を開催してきました。

そして，1991年に当時の学生と大学によってICU祭実行委員会を継続的な公認団体とすることで合意し，それ以降は年度ごとに委員会がICU祭の運営方針を定めて全学の過半数の承認を得ることで同年度のICU祭の開催を宣言できることになりました。

※2019年末からその威力を発揮するCOVID-19の感染拡大を受けて，2020年度よりGoogle Formsを用いて署名活動を行っています。

As a result of the student movement(student protest) in the 1960s, ICU had not held ICU festivals for about ten years. However, in 1976, the ICU Festival Committee, newly established by the students, and the University, reached a consensus: the ICU Festival would be held only if the majority of all students agreed to make the festival happen.

Since the successful revival of the ICU Festival in 1976, many volunteers came together every year to launch the ICU Festival Committee, which was also signed annually by the majority of students to be an official organization to run the festival. Finally, in 1991, the University and its students both agreed to make the ICU Festival Committee a continual organization that will now frame annual policies of the ICU Festival, which the majority of students will then approve.

※Signatures are now collected via Google Forms as a response to the spread of COVID-19 since the school year of 2020.
